NEW Webinar from Pharma Nord Academy - Nutrition for Skin Health

Published to Upcoming Events on Nov 05, 2026

The skin is far more than a passive barrier - it is a dynamic neuro-endocrine-immune organ, continuously integrating signals from the nervous, hormonal and immune systems while responding to environmental exposures. This makes it uniquely vulnerable to modern stressors, including chronic psychological stress, pollution and accelerated ageing.

Sue Camp will examine how chronic stress alters local cortisol signalling and drives neurogenic inflammation; how pollutants activate oxidative and inflammatory pathways that impair barrier function; and how ageing compounds these effects through mitochondrial decline, hormonal shifts and immune senescence.

She will explore how these mechanisms contribute to some of the common skin conditions we see in clinic and mportantly, will also translate mechanisms into clinical practice, highlighting the role of targeted dietary, lifestyle and nutritional strategies in supporting barrier integrity, modulating inflammation, enhancing antioxidant capacity and optimising neuroendocrine resilience.
